A BODY WHICH DRAWS ITSELF
A Body Which Draws Itself is an iterative performance project in which the artist exploring the body's capacity to record an image of itself.

Through a combination of drawing apparatuses, predicament bondage and contemporary movement, Rustichelli allows the reflexes, limitations and realities of the body to record marks. In doing so they are exploring the possibility of the body having its own sense of self independent of the conscious self and, furthering this, whether the movements and capabilities of the body can record and express this body-self.

Currently, the work is in various stages of development, primarily continuing to explore durational experimental activations of the work. Alongside this is a new development of a 60-minute structured improvisational version of the work in collaboration with James Halloran, who accompanies the piece with improvised muscial response to the performance.
