A Body Which Draws Itself is a project which challenges and consolidates the relationship between artist, body and self.

​

Through physical challenges, predicament bondage and various apparatuses the artist uses the movements, reflexes and instincts of the body to create marks. This study is an exercise in harnessing embodied knowledge for the purpose of granting the body autonomy in recording its experiences with minimised intervention from the artists own decision making. In this process the artist is exploring the limitations of "self" as a concept and considering that the body may contain a selfhood of its own.
